Guillermo Salvador Melara passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, November 25, 2021, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
 
Guillermo was born on January 2, 1956, in Santa Ana, El Salvador to Guillermo and Mercedes Melara. Guillermo joined the Salvadorian Military at the young age of 14 where he proudly served for many years and earned the rank of Sergeant.
 
After proudly serving his country, Guillermo immigrated to the United States where he met the love of his life, Mayra Melara 1985. Guillermo married Mayra in 1987 and had (3) beautiful children together.
 
Guillermo worked tirelessly for his family. When he didn’t work, he dedicated his free time to his family. Guillermo enjoyed taking his family camping and spending most days outdoors. He enjoyed traditional Salvadorian dishes and Seafood. Guillermo also loved to to tell jokes and enjoyed making others laugh.
 
One of Guillermo’s favorite things to do was play cards with his sons, grandchildren, and friends.
 
Guillermo lived an adventurous life. His family meant the world to him. He was proud of all his children and their accomplishments in life. He took pride in the work he did raising a loving family who loved him dearly.
 
Guillermo is survived by his wife, Mayra Melara, children: son, Jorge (Sandra) Melara, son, Guillermo (Carina) Melara, son, Jovannie (Ismelda) Gomez, son, Brian (Nancy) Melara, daughter, Cindy (Jordan) Clay-Melara and his (13) Grandchildren.
 
Guillermo is preceded in death by his daughter, Kenia Urbina and his parents Guillermo and Mercedes Melara.
 
Services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, Utah 84123.
 
Viewing will start at 9AM
Service will start at 10AM
Burial will be start at 11AM
