Gregory Robert Keller

March 27, 1982 — December 14, 2018

Gregory Robert Keller, beloved husband, adoring father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, and eternal friend peacefully passed from this life on December 14, 2018 in Spring, Texas, after living with brain cancer for many years.
Greg’s brief, but full life was devoted to a humble quest to connect with the people he loved. As a child he was shy and gentle, in awe of those he looked up to. He brought into this life a desire to learn and be self-reliant. He had an innate passion to figure out how things worked—taking items apart and putting them back together again, which later became a central role in his career in electronics. He could fix anything you put in his path and understood the inner workings of machines, computers, cars, systems connected by wire.
He was generous with his time and talents, and reliable to those in need. He served as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, including a two-year service mission in Morristown, New Jersey. He found Julie, the love of his life and they were married in Boston, Massachusetts in August 2009. He was quick to recognize his essential calling, to become a strong and careful father and a loving husband. Together as their family grew, they lived in Boston, Massachusetts; Gardnerville, Nevada; and Houston, Texas. Above all, he delighted in being a dad, taking a unique and active role in raising his three small daughters, now ages five, three, and 15 months.
Greg possessed a rich desire to experience as much as he could. Time formed a ring around his life on earth and he defied those boundaries with a limitless outlook. He never focused on the way that life would end, instead he was drawn to adventure and travel, the outdoors, and developed a fondness for finding the best local fare wherever he landed. But his generous and sentimental spirit really came alive when he was able to share what he enjoyed with those he adored. He loved uncovering glimpses of magic in each new city he visited and lived. His demeanor matched the serene and expansive lakes of his favorite places. He looked forward to life’s adventure with enthusiasm, made sweeter with his best friend and partner beside him.
Within the concentric circles of Greg’s life, there was a grounding fulcrum of graceful charm, a gentle and amusing spirit, and a genuine kindness that made him a complete partner and dad. The atmosphere that surrounded him was calm, candid, and thoughtful. A constant understated, off kilter humor was always a uniting force in the room. And his quiet resilience and positive outlook was a constant example to those around him.
Greg was singular in the way he cared for his people. He was distinct in the quality of love he was able to give and express in quiet and meaningful ways. We all learned from his ability to express freely and often a pure and humble affection for those that surrounded him, even without words.
An enduring sphere of his love and light will be a constant force for those he leaves behind. Pieces of his spirit and likeness live on in his three vibrant children: in the green eyes of little Ruby, the dimple in Indie’s right cheek, and in Nova’s mischievous grin.
Greg is survived by his wife, Julie Hulet Keller, and his three daughters, Indie Ree, Ruby Rene, and Nova Rae. He is also survived by his parents, Larry and Wendy Keller, and his siblings: Alicia Hickman (Don), Kimberly Smith (Sean), Kevin Keller (Tiffany), and Candice Keller. He was a natural fit in the Craig and Renon Hulet family and will be missed by a multitude of adoring brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
