Greg Hales

Don Gregory Hales (Greg) passed away unexpectedly August 17, 2018 in St. George, Utah while on a business trip. He was born to Patricia and Don Hales January 24, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Greg married his high school sweetheart, Terri Leigh Busch in the Salt Lake Temple on March 8, 1985. They enjoyed 33 wonderful, adventurous years together and raised 3 beautiful children, Spencer, Zachary and Mia. Greg was loved by everyone who knew him and those who would come to know him. He loved the little children because he was just a kid himself. He lived a life of serving others and was happiest in doing so. Greg was involved with making sandwiches and serving the homeless for 20+ years. Greg was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a faithful member who loved the Savior and served in the Auckland, New Zealand mission from 1983-1984. He was constantly involved with serving in the Young Men’s organization and truly related with them. To say Greg was an avid sports fan would be an understatement. Baseball was his true love. He pretty much played or coached his whole life and excelled while playing for Brighton High School. He then went on to play for the Tech (now UVU) until a gun accident shot off some fingers and was left with “the stub”. Greg is survived by his wife, Terri and 3 children, Spencer, Zachary and Mia; father, Don Hales and his wife Eve; siblings, Shelli Densley (Kip), KaRynn Christensen (Bryan), Richard, Michael, Lisa Walters (Mike), Paul (Jennie), Camille Bergstrom (Craig), and foster brothers Darren Tafoya (Brenda), Lewistus Silversmith. Greg is preceded in death by his mother Patricia LaRue Jolley Hales, grandparents, Madalene and Boyd Jolley and Rex Petersen, Dora and Clifford Hales, father-in-law, Robert Busch. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23 at 11 a.m. at the Alpine North Stake Building, 1125 North Alpine Blvd., Alpine, UT.
