In loving memory of Grant Jay Cheney,

Grant Jay Cheney, age 74, passed away on October 21st, 2023, at St. George Regional Hospital, from congestive heart failure. He was born in Salt Lake City on January 31st, 1949, to Ted and Mae Cheney. Survived by Wife Joan B. Cheney, Daughter Kaylynn Cheney, Brother Farrel Cheney, Brother Larry Cheney. Deceased parents and son, Eric Cheney.

He graduated with a bachelor's from Utah State University. He taught 4th grade for 30 years. He loved teaching. He lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, card games, board games, loved doing puzzles, likes to travel and really enjoyed watching tv. He enjoyed going to plays and musicals. Watching theatre performances …especially dancing was truly enjoyable for him.

He loved to joke around and tease. Especially his wife and his daughter. He was a very mild-mannered man. Very content and enjoyed the little things. Easy going and had a quiet disposition.

He is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He has a strong testimony of Heavenly father and Jesus Christ. He was a remarkable home teacher and was loved and admired by his ward members.

A viewing and grave side service is being held on Thursday, October 26th at 1:00pm. At Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery. Address: 6500 South Redwood Road. Salt Lake City, Utah 84123. In lieu of flowers donate to your favorite charity. In honor of Grant. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
