“Oh, Dear”
1929-2022~ Gloria J Rendon passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022 of natural causes. Born in Salida, Colorado, she was the second oldest of 6 children. Mom was truly a saint on earth, influencing every soul she touched with her special view on life and love, she loved music, art, food, travel and yes all people.
Shortly after she graduated from Salida High School she married Bibian J. Rendon. They relocated to Bingham Canyon, Utah where Bibian began working for Kennecott Copper Mine. They then moved to Salt Lake City where they raised their 4 children.
Gloria attended LDS Business College and Westminster College. She worked most of her career at the University of Utah and retired in 1991. After retiring, she volunteered her time at the Assistance League of Salt Lake City where she enjoyed her friends there for many years.
Time and space stopped in Gloria’s presence. She loved everyone, without bias or judgement, she had a way of making everyone feel like they were her favorite. She loved to cook, and in 1993, was the only finalist from Utah to go to the Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest. Whenever family was present, she loved to gather and cook for them.
Gloria is survived by her children, Mark (Wow) Rendon, Christine ( Richard) Hansen, Brian (Jill) Rendon. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her oldest sister Margaret Jamillo. She was Preceded in death by her husband Bibian, and son Ron.
A special thank you to All Seasons Memory Care Center staff Brandy, Rebecca, Sergio, and numerous others.
A Private family service was held in St. George, Utah.
