Glenn Lee Schultz Sr

December 28, 1936 — February 28, 2019

On the morning of February 28, 2019, Glenn Lee Schultz, Sr. rode away from this life leaving behind several beloved family members and friends. He passed away while watching his favorite cowboy westerns. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Milton (1947) and Hannah (1961), siblings Effie “Fae” Elizabeth Edmonds (1985), Milton James Schultz (1924), Jackson James Schultz (1996), Paul Carlsson Schultz (1988), Lloyd Joseph Schultz (1931), Major Allen Schultz (1932), Betty Jane Horn (2002), Roberta Kay Wineriter (1995), and Martha Leora Cobb (2005), his first spouse, Betty Jean Wineriter (2013), his second spouse, Gloria Dean Kilpatrick Mounts (2005), his son, Steven Anthony Schultz (2003), and his grandson Todd Richard Schultz (2013). He leaves behind five children, Jackson (Brenda), Dale (Reinette), Glenn, Betty (Kent Hardman), and Cory McDonald, 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Glenn was born on December 28, 1936 in Bradford, McKean County, Pennsylvania to Milton James Schultz and Hannah Detrich Van Luvender. He was the youngest of nine children. After his father passed away in 1947, Hannah moved the family to Utah. With limited education, he was self-taught in upholstery where he spent many years providing for his family. He spent time as a taxi cab driver, a groundskeeper at the University of Utah, a foundry worker, and a moving and storage driver. In 1954, he entered the US Navy to serve his country. In 1957 he married Betty Wineriter, and had six children. In 2004 he married Gloria Kilpatrick Mounts. Together they raised “Blue”, his loyal Blue Heeler. Glenn loved his “dad jokes”, jigsaw puzzles, John Wayne and western movies. He was a tough man with a big heart. Even in his later years he would still try and grab you and toss in a few rib jabs. Everywhere he went, people fell in love with Glenn. He loved to be playful and tease, playing hot cocoa pong with straw wrappers with his best friend, Bob. We all will dearly miss Glenn as he rides off into the sunset like his idol, “Duke.”
