Glenn Jay Hintze

July 1, 1933 — February 26, 2022

Glenn Jay Hintze passed away February 26, 2022 at the age of 88.  He was born July 1, 1933 to Glenn and Edith Hintze.  Jay was raised in Holladay where he was an adventurous boy, riding his horse Midnight everywhere.  Holladay was a great place to grow up.

Jay married Ann Halliday and they had four boys.  They later divorced.    Jay married his eternal companion Wynne P. Hintze which added another son to the family.

Jay LOVED sports and was a great pitcher on his slow pitch softball team. In his adventurous life he enjoyed basketball, boating, cliff diving, travelling and GOLF.  Jay had two holes in one and played as often as possible.  Jay also enjoyed ceramics-winning a blue ribbon at the County Fair.   Of course, a Pepsi was enjoyed whenever possible.

Jay worked at the family business-Holladay Motors-until it was sold.  He worked for Monroc until retiring in 1997.

Jay had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and served in the Bishopric, High Council, and as a Ward missionary.  He also served with his wife Wynne at the Utah State Prison as family history leaders.

Jay will be sorely missed by his family and friends-who will always remember his many jokes and stories.

Jay is survived by his beloved wife Wynne, and sons:  Glenn (Pam), Alan (Tory), Hartland (Suzi), Darren (Areta) and daughter in law Robyn (Mark-deceased), Brother Lynn (Joanie), sisters Lois (Dick), Jolene (Noall) and Maryann (Mike).  Preceded in death by his son Mark and brother Dean.  Jay’s posterity includes 15 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren whom he adored.
