Glen Stott

October 16, 1944 — December 8, 2019

Glen Richard Stott, born October 16, 1944 to Grant and Helen, passed away Sunday December 8, 2019 in Fontana, CA. While his passing was sudden and unexpected, he was able to go peacefully while surrounded by family, including his wife of almost 34 years, Conchita “Chiki” Stott.
Glen and Chiki were married December 26, 1985 at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas and after moving from Salt Lake City to southern California they finally set up permanent residence in Fontana where they’ve been for the past 28 years. What started as a blank canvas was sculpted, painted, and built into their dream home with all of Glen’s hard work and creative planning. He was able to rely on his Civil Engineering degree that he received in 1970 from University of Utah to add custom additions to their home and garden. Over the years, Glen and Chiki created a magical place that has been the hub for all family functions.
After graduating from South High School Salt Lake in 1963, Glen served a full-time Spanish speaking mission in the Spanish-American Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 1974 he graduated from Cal State University with his masters in Business Management and then eventually started his career as an Associate Engineer for the City of Ontario, CA in 1987. Before retiring in 2009, Glen has his first of five books published in 2000. His interest in ancient history is what lead to his trilogy based on the Neanderthals and Cro-magnons, which were only recently rewritten and republished. Before perfecting his hobby of gardening and writing, Glen could be found completing needlepoint pictures or participating in a friendly basketball game. He played competitively on a senior team and they were county champions one year. Always looking to learn more, Glen gladly accepted the challenge of teaching himself French in preparation for the trip of a life time to France and Ireland. Glen was extremely proud of all of his children’s successes and took great pleasure in being Papa to all of his grandchildren. Most recently, his biggest enjoyment came from dance parties, indoor snowball fights, and hat parades with his little great-grands.
Glen is survived by his wife, or as he would call her “his girlfriend,” Chiki, and their 13 children: Kimberly (Gary) Earl, Gregory (Amanda) Stott, Matt (Becca) Stott, Gary (Becky) Stott, Kevin (Angie) Stott, Amanda (Adam) Moser, Lavona (Wendell) Howell, Gina (Dan) Truman, Benita Moore, Selina (Brian) Nuzum, Tonya Moore, Sheila Moore, and Willa (Stacy) Moore, along with 43 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and his two brothers, Gerald (Kathy) and Wayne Stott. His death is a great loss to all of them and he will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Helen (Greenhalgh) Stott, his two sisters Jane Musselman and Shirley Pappin, and his infant son, Marc.
