Glen Leroy Tryon

July 25, 1937 — August 16, 2016

Glen LeRoy Tryon, 79.  Passed away August 16, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born on July 25, 1937 in Wanship, Utah, to William LeRoy Tryon and Clara Marie Smith.  He was married to LeeAnna Nelson on July 30, 1959, later Solemnized in The Salt Lake Temple.
Dad was a master of everything, carpentry (both rough and finish) he took pride in his many projects especially the Devereaux house in Salt Lake City, auto body, there was nothing he couldn’t make beautiful, mechanics, he taught each of us how to work on our cars from the minute we got our drivers licenses .  Anything he touched he would perfect and master. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, spending time with family.  He couldn’t wait for the next camping, fishing trip so he could sing to the fish to jump on his pole.
Dad was hard on the outside but a softy on the inside, when you first met him you would see the size of his forearms and hardness of his look you would be scared to even talk to him, but when you got to know him you realized he was just a soft teddy bear inside.  He was also a jokester, all of us kids and grandkids would guard our birthday card money because dad/grandpa would steal the money and hold it hostage until the end of the party where he would chuckle and say “I’ll trade you what you got for what I have in my wallet” of course none of us would trade, however at times we would have been better if we had.
Some would call him Papa, dad, grandpa, brother, Mr. Pinky, Popeye, deck master, papa moose, or just Glen.  Everyone that met him came away a much better person than before they met him.
He is survived by his wife, Brother Eldon (Jenean) Tryon, Sister Judy (Lee) Keeler, daughter Sharry (Mark) Thomas, Son Bill (LoriAnne) Tryon, daughter Lisa Burnside (David Lapow), daughter Tori (Kelly) Robinson, daughter Denice (Steve) Hamby, and puppies Bentley & Kasper.  14 grandchildren, Keven (Elma) Thomas, Joleean (Chris) Slater, Angelique Thomas, Brandon (Haley) Tryon, Doug (Melissa) Tryon, Nicole Tryon, Ronny Burnside, Chris Burnside, Tara (Justin) Anderson, Tiffany Nelson, McKenzie Nelson, McKayla Nelson, Shantell Hamby (Jamison Creekmore), Joshua Hamby, and 11.5 great grandchildren, as well as many cousins and very close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, great grandparents and his beloved most recent puppies Smokey, Bandit & Patches.
A private family service will be held on Monday August 22, 2016, a celebration of his life will be at a later date.
We love you dad, brother, grandpa, papa, Mr. Pinky, until we see you again, help Heavenly Father build his kingdom.
