Ginger Marlene Jacobsen

March 12, 1956 — June 2, 2016

Our beloved Sister, Aunti, Ginger Marlene Jacobsen took an early journey through the veil, to be with our parents, late in the evening of Thursday June 2, 2016 at the Saint Marks Hospital.  I can only imagine the beautiful reunion in Heaven.
Sis collapsed in the arms of her niece, Megan Hauert Sainz, husband, David, when coming to attend her great nephew’s (Logan) 4th birthday party two days earlier.  She suffered a heart attack that she was unable to recover from.
Born March 12th, 1956 to Lewis and Ginger Jacobsen, she was the highlight of their lives.  Her laugh was infectious, her “knowledge of all things useless” which means she was an encyclopedia of trivia, and her kind and generous spirit will be forever missed.  Even in her last hours she was telling us some of her tidbits of knowledge.  She was sharp as a tack right to the end.
Sis was a Tolkien fan from the day she could read.  She wore out numerous volumes of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.  She was the Ultimate Disney fan.  She worked for the original Disney store when it first came to Utah.  If you ever had a Disney trivia question, she was your go to girl.  She participated in The Disney Store Trivia contests and was amazing at it.  Next time you are in the Haunted Mansion, remember to say “HI” to Ginger!
Sis worked for the Utah Department of Child and Family services for over 20 years and regarded her work family as a beautiful part of her life.
Sis marched to the beat of her own drummer.  She was one of a kind.  I don’t know how we will ever get used to not having her on this earth.  We are grateful for the Savior’s plan of Eternal Life and Forever Families.
Preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Ginger Jacobsen.  Survived by her sister, Sherri Hauert. nephews Brandon Hauert (Jazmin) and Scotti Hauert, niece, Megan Hauert Sainz (David) and her precious grand nieces and nephews, Autumn Riddle, Lydia Sainz, Logan Sainz, Averi Sainz, Scarlett Hauert and Seth Hauert. And her precious furry baby, Roxi.
We will be having a celebration of Sis’s life on Thursday, June 9th 2016, at the Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E 7800 S, Salt Lake City, UT at 2 PM.  There will be a viewing starting at 12:30 PM at the same location.  In honor of Sis, we ask that you wear your favorite Disney attire, Pirates of the Caribbean attire, your favorite Lord of the Rings attire.  If not any of those, please wear purple.
Our family wants to extend a giant thank you to the amazing staff in the ICU at Saint. Marks Hospital.  Her personal nurses, Andy and Kasadi were unbelievable. Kasadi, thank you for making her last moments so comfortable for her.
She loved with passion. She will be sorely missed.  We love you Sis, Aunti, Ginger!
Have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious day!!
