Trudy
Trudy Duncan, 83, died on July 6, 2018.  She was born in Butte, Montana and lived in various locations in the state until she married Edwin J. Duncan in 1954.  Trudy and Ed were stationed in Santa Monica, California and Anchorage, Alaska during their military career.  Ed’s post military careers took Trudy and their two children (Debra Rae and David G.) to Pennsylvania and then to Salt Lake City (1963).  In Salt Lake City Trudy attended Westminster College and earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis on Social Studies.  She taught World Geography for 30 years at Bonneville Junior High School.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and rang in the adult bell choir.  She worked with her husband in the formation and development of The Wesley Bell Ringers and toured as a chaperone on 45 of their summer concert tours.
Trudy loved politics – especially when they involved education advocacy and Women’s Equality.  She was a political activist and enjoyed working on campaigns for women seeking office.  She was the Public Policy Chairman for the American Association of University Women (Wasatch Branch); she served on the Women’s State Legislative Council.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ United Methodist Church at 11 A.M. on Saturday, August 11.
