Gerald Vaughn Lind “Gerry”

d. February 10, 2022

Gerry passed away unexpectedly in his home in Lehi, UT on Thursday, February 10, 2022.  Gerry was born on December 16, 1980, in Provo, Utah to Edwin and Becky Lind.
He grew up in South Jordan, UT and attended Copper Hills High School. During his school years he met several lifelong friends and his future spouse Rebecca Lynch. He played on the tennis team and was an all-region player. He graduated from high school in 1999.
Gerry served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Edmonton, Canada Mission from 2000-2002. He loved the people of Canada and built enduring relationships. He continued as a devoted member serving in many positions within the church particularly with the Young Men.  He was currently serving as a primary teacher and loved the energy and curiosity of his class members.
Gerry graduated from Brigham Young University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Actuarial Science. He later received an MBA from Utah State University in 2013. He built a very successful career in financial analytics with TD Ameritrade and more recently loved working as a member of the Edelman Financial Engines family.
Gerry loved music and was an accomplished guitar player. He loved outdoor sports including snowboarding in the winter, tennis, golf, fishing, and mountain biking in the summer. He loved working with his dad on his 1960 Triumph TR-3. He loved BYU Football and would follow recruiting heavily. Gerry was notoriously thrifty. His favorite meal was always one that could be purchased with a coupon.
Gerry married Rebecca Ann Lynch in the Salt Lake Temple on July 22, 2003. Their life together began in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Work opportunities moved them to southern California and later to Henderson, Nevada before returning home to Lehi, Utah in 2010. They built a wonderful life together with 3 beautiful children Zachary, Lauren, and Clinton. He loved his family more than anything and was very involved in his children’s lives.  He was so proud of them all.
