Gerald Joseph Vincent

July 4, 1936 — July 17, 2021

Passed away peacefully July 17, 2021 at 2pm in a Care Center in South Jordan, Utah.
He entered the VA Hospital on June 14th and was then transported to the Care Center on July 2nd. 
 
Born on July 4, 1936 at 10pm in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. He was the son of Lawrence Alvin Vincent and Gerradina Johanna Elzinga who preceded him in death as well as his brother Lawrence A. Vincent Jr. and half sister Ellen.
Gerald attended Granite High School. He served in the United States Navy. His employment included Brinkerhoff Brick Co., Amherst Cabinets, United Airlines, Bath Crest, and Summit Center Tack and Feed.
 
As a faithful member of the LDS church he served many years as a Ward Clerk and then as a Stake Clerk. Later, he enjoyed his Service Mission for the LDS Church at Temple Square in the Conference Center for 6 years.
 
Gerald was fortunate to be able to travel to many parts of the world including, Panama Canal, Mexico, Israel, Europe, Canada, and most of the United States including Alaska and Hawaii many times.
 
He made beautiful stained glass windows and wood projects. He loved to be outside and work in the garden. His greatest joy was playing with his grandchildren.
 
He is survived by his loving Wife JoAnn Smith Vincent of 64 years, his Sister Jeri Gray (Bill)
Four Children: Carolyn Ramos (James), Linda Peterson (Scott), Sue Crittenden (Bob), Doug Vincent (Sherri)  16 GrandChildren and 25 Great GrandChildren.
 
He will be remembered most by his unwavering strength, not only physically but spiritually, and his perfectly loving hugs. We miss you…Husband, Dad, Brother, Funny Grandpa.
 
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 22nd at 1:00pm with the viewing before at 11:00am Located at the LDS Church on 4200 West Skye Drive (9800 South), South Jordan, UT
His resting place will be at Lake Hills Cemetery, Sandy, UT
