Gerald Geter

October 30, 1935 — January 28, 2015

Gerald “Jerry” David Geter, Sr. ,79, died on January 28, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on October 30, 1935 in Indianapolis Indiana, to Goldie (Hayes) and William Geter. He married Rose Montaniez and had five beautiful kids. They later divorced. Gerald served in the United States Navy. He was a talented musician and loved blues. Gerald was a great cook and owned his own business, “Geter’s All Occasion Sauce.” Gerald accomplished many goals he set and gave his all in his final days. Gerald was a member of the LDS Church. He loved his church family. He is survived by his daughter, Carmen Geter; grandsons: Cord Geter and Leon Geter; granddaughters: Pammie (Tye) Geter-Mapu and Shellise Geter, great grandsons: Ka’rale, To’iolelua and Olivè. Also a great granddaughter, Tykara; niece, Janice Barnett. As well as other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Goldie, brothers: Ralph, Joseph and Fred, sisters: Mildred and Betty, sons: Gerald Jr. and Rick and a daughter, Sylvia. The family would like to thank the V.A. Hospital MICU staff for their care of dad and grandpa. Also to his long time friend and legal counsel Mr Milo S. Marsden. Funeral services will be held on February 7, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at the River 7th Ward, 7380 South 1300 West, West Jordan, Utah. “Fare winds and following seas” Interment to follow the service at Redwood Memorial Park.
