Gerald Elgin Grames, 85, was reunited with his beloved wife on August 29, 2018. He was born March 15, 1933 in the Albert J. Grames log cabin in Price, Utah, to Bridie Harrison and Elgen George Grames. Gerry was born with a genetic eye condition that eventually took his sight away completely. Despite this, he didn’t let it stop him from living a long and fulfilling life. He married Enid Maurine Orlob on August 20, 1967 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Into this union, Gerry brought four daughters from a previous marriage: Linda, Julie, Louise and Mary. Shortly after marriage, the two lovebirds welcomed two sons, Richard and Steven. Ricky passed away on March 6, 1989. Gerry loved audio books, Johnny Cash, and living life on his own terms. He was a practical joker at times and had a warm and loving disposition toward everyone he met. Gerald was an active member of the LDS Church. He was a kind and humble man and is now free from the limitations that he struggled with so much throughout his life. His greatest concern, even as he was leaving us, was the well-being of his family, friends, and loved ones. Gerald is survived by Daughters Linda (Provo Ut), Julie (West Valley City, Ut), Louise (Midvale, Ut), and Mary (Beaver dam little field, Arizona), one son, Steven, of South Ogden, Ut. As well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends both old and new. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jackie and Ricky, and his beloved wife, Maurine. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Noon with a viewing beginning at 10:30 AM, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.Service Information
