George Warfield Morrison passed away on July 18, 2019 at the age of 84. George was married for more than 65 years to his high school sweetheart, Mary Lou. The couple lived in Murray and Sandy for most of their lives. George was a switchman for the Denver & Rio Grande Western Pacific Railroad for 35 years and was a union leader during his career. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserves in the 1950s.
George enjoyed outdoor activities with his family, including fly-fishing and camping. He was a proud Scout leader and liked teaching what he knew to others. He was also an active bowler and could “strike” up a conversation that lasted for hours with anyone who crossed his path.
He is survived by his wife, MaryLou; three sons: Mike, Don (Melissa), and Kelly (Karen); five grandchildren (Lisa, Kyle, Erik, Jessica, Nicole), and three great-grandchildren.
