On March 22, 2015, after a short illness, Orvel was reunited with his eternal companion, Barbara. He was born in Salt Lake City on November 3, 1930 to George A. Johnson and Ethel P. Rolfson. He has three brothers, Delmar-deceased (Anneli), LaVell (Carol), and Newell (Colleen) and one sister, Norene (Wally) Newton. He served in the Western Canadian Mission for the LDS Church, and also faithfully fulfilled many church callings throughout his life. During the Korean War, he was stationed in Germany as an M.P. He earned a Bachelor degree in Accounting from the U of U. He married Barbara Deane Reed in the Salt Lake Temple on October 25, 1957. For over thirty years he lived in Tucson, Arizona and worked as a Director of Contract Administration for Bell Aerospace before retiring to Salt Lake City. He had a beautiful voice and sang duets with Barbara. He loved attending musical performances, especially the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Utah Symphony. Survived by children, David (Sherri), Chris (Lynette), Bethanie, and Sean, close friend, Kay Koester, and 6 grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:30am and a funeral at 11:00am at the Waterloo Ward, 1623 South 500 East, Salt Lake City, Utah.
