George John Vosnos

June 8, 1927 — April 18, 2020

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die” (John 11:25-26).
Loving father, cherished pappou (grandfather), great-grandfather and world-traveler, George Vosnos, joined his bride of 68 years and his Lord, on the eve of Pascha (Orthodox Easter). He left peacefully and is now rejoicing with many loved family and friends in Heaven.
George was born in Magna, Utah in the home of his parents, John and Alexandra Vosnos. He married the love of his life, Mary Mantas on June 8th, 1952, in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, on his 25th birthday. George and Mary were faithful Greek Orthodox Christians and rarely missed a Sunday of church. George worked for Kennecott Copper Corporation for more than 44 years as a welder. He took his family on long road trips and they were privileged to visit over 40 states by car and train. George also loved teaching his children to fish, hunt and swim, but most of all – how to love God and unconditionally forgive everyone. His servant-heart was huge and there was room in it for everyone.
George is survived by his four children – John (Dawn), Rose Pylidis (Elias), Pete and Sandra, as well as his brother, Archie and sister, Dorothy Angelos, along with many nieces and nephews. He was a hero to his cherished grandchildren Maria Savage (Josh), John Pylidis, JJ (Merissa) and Jamison Vosnos, Alexandra, Fisher and Matthew Vosnos; and great-grandchildren, Jonah and Lukah Savage.
