George Austin Frodsham
1939-2016

George Austin Frodsham, 76, passed away on September 17, 2016, in Salt Lake City, Utah, from heart failure.
George was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Portia and George Frodsham on October 9, 1939. He married Maureen Brooks (divorced), and later married Sharon Roese, the love of his life, on August 29, 1986. He is survived by his wife Sharon, and his daughter, Jill Chenoweth (Mark), stepson Mark Roese (Kristy), granddaughter Ariel Chenoweth, grandson Barton Schalburg, step-grandson David Roese, and step-granddaughter Emily Roese, his brother Joseph Austin Frodsham (Mary Jean), sisters: Mary Darling (Dee), Ruth Peterson (Monty), and Eve Marsh (Sharon Dale).
He had an engaging, energetic personality that his sisters often described being like a mixture of Richard Dreyfus and Jack Nicholson. He worked at G. H. Bass & Company for 22 years, during 20 of these years he sold more shoes for the company than any other salesperson in the United States. Following his career with the Bass Company he worked as an independent financial entrepreneur. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed the company of his wife, being with friends and family and relaxing with his dog.
Time spent with George was always rewarding as he shared his thoughts and stories, about life, work and family. His sense of humor always permeated and enhanced his conversations.
A celebration of his life will take place one hour prior before the graveside services on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 12:00pm, at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights. Online condolences: www.memorialutah.com. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Second Chance for Homeless Pets.
