George Edgar Buck passed away June 13, 2014. George was born in Salt Lake City on January 22, 1921 to Ellen Louise Pedersen and Francis Morgan Buck. He was a lifelong resident of Salt Lake City. He graduated West High School in 1939. He married Stella Blohm November 1, 1940 in Spanish Fork, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He was active in the LDS Church. He and Stella, served in the Alabama Birmingham Mission in 1986, just prior to Stella’s death, September 7, 1986. He married Bonne Carlson on August 28, 1987.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Stella, a son, Duane B. Buck, and a sister, Dorothy Amalia Buck (Peters); son-in-law, W. A. Blevins. He is survived by six children, Frances Jean (Evan) Hansen, Pleasant Grove, Janice Ann (Michael) Davis, Santa Clara, George Eudell (Deanna) Buck, Hooper, Charles Steven (Terrie) Buck, Las Vegas, NV, Laurel Christine Blevins, Spanish Fork and Cheryl Diane (Duane) Vincent, Murray. He has 113 descendants
George worked with the Union Pacific Railroad from age 11 and then moved to the A.R. Davis Company and retired in 1983.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East. Friends may call beginning at 10 am prior to services on Tuesday. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
