Geneva Knott, 90, passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2024 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on December 26th, 1933 to Alma Crowther and Rhoda Crowther in the sweet town of Aurora, Utah. She is survived by daughter Glenda Jeong, and son Ronnie Knott, and over two dozen grandchildren.
Geneva lived a gracious and fulfilling life. Her unforgettably contagious smile leaves a legacy of kindness and compassion. “They don’t make ‘em like her anymore,” everyone would say. Geneva was the definition of someone with a heart of gold. She grew up in Aurora, in the countryside. She always spoke of her dad milking cows, mom getting eggs, and sleeping in one bed with all her siblings. She grew up in a house filled with love. She graduated high school in 1952 and later decided to leave for Salt Lake City to explore what more Utah had to offer. It was here where her heartwarming smile won over the heart of Ronald D. Knott. Geneva would always say, “When I saw him, I knew he was going to be my husband.” She was right, they married on August 6, 1955. They shared an unwavering love and devotion to one another and the family they created. Geneva became a mother to her first daughter Karen. She then gave birth to Randy, and her Angel, Brenda. Motherhood was her proudest accomplishment. Geneva gave birth to her last daughter Glenda, and last son Ronnie. Geneva was born to be a mother; she was always a natural caregiver. Coming from a family where she had 13 siblings, she was destined to have a big family of her own. She became a grandma when Karen gave birth to her first granddaughter Karmen Grover. Geneva was then blessed with 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She created a family filled with love and her love for her family was what kept her going for so long. She will live on through every single one of her beloved grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Friday, February 16th at 2:00pm, at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, located at 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held on Thursday February 15th from 6:00 - 8:00pm and on Friday, February 16th from 1:00 - 2:00pm at Memorial Redwood Mortuary as well.
Special thank you to her son Ronnie, daughter-in-law Amy, and granddaughters; Julia and Jennifer Knott, Geneva’s dedicated caregivers. Because of them, Geneva was able to live comfortably and happily at her cherished home for the last years of her life.
Geneva will be dearly missed and live forever in all of our hearts. She left an everlasting impression on everyone around her. May her sweet soul rest in peace. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald, and her children, Karen, Randy, and Brenda. They are reunited at last.
