Gene was born in Springville, Utah to Axel and Clarice Danielson, on October 30, 1935. He felt gypped with his birthday being the day before Halloween. He married Patsie Wilson on May 5, 1961, in the Salt Lake Temple. Patsie preceded him in death 14 years to the day, December 12, 2002. He will be missed by his children, Douglas, Craig, Eugene, Debbie, Peggie, Clara and Jackie as well as by his 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Gene loved to learn and continued his education throughout his life. He took classes at Salt Lake Community College and the University of Utah into his seventies. He enjoyed math, economics, and small engine repair.
Gene served in the army from 1958 to 1960. He served in Korea at a hotel issuing sheets and pillowcases to soldiers going on R&R. He would work 24 hours and then have 48 hours off.
Gene worked at the Eddington Cannery I Springville, at BYU, at the Federal Reserve Bank, at a Trading Post on an Indian Reservation, and finally at the Tooele Army Depot from which her retired.
Gene was extremely proud of being the oldest newspaper carrier. He was delivering papers well into his seventies.
Gene suffered with Rheumatoid arthritis for more than 50 years. He proved that even with arthritis he could do anything he set his mind too.

Funeral services for Gene will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday December 17, 2016 at Memorial Redwood Mortuary 6500 South Redwood Road West Jordan, Utah 84123. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the mortuary. Internment at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
