Gayla Ann Korth June 20, 1947 – November 18, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gayla Ann Korth (née Thompson), 77, on November 18, 2024. Gayla passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Gayla was born on June 20, 1947, to William Thompson and Veona Vander Linden (née Densley). She graduated from Bingham High School. She married Donald Korth on August 12, 1966, and together they built a beautiful life centered around family.

Gayla’s greatest pride was her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always generous and wanted to share everything she had with her family.

Gayla was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, delighting in his music, movies, and legacy. Her unparalleled knowledge of "The King" was both endearing and legendary among those who knew her. In addition to her love of Elvis, Gayla had a remarkable talent for knitting and crocheting, often gifting her loved ones with handmade treasures that carried her warmth and care.

Gayla is survived by her husband, Donald Korth; her children, Darrin Korth, Brenda Blair (Dennis), and Marci Guevara (David); her grandchildren, James, Mason, Joshua (Kim), Stockton (Shae), Ashley, Elijah M. (Katie), Elijah S., Michelle (Patrick), Toriana (Jorden), and Penelope; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Andrea Lloyd (Lee).

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Thompson and Veona Vander Linden, and her sister, Karen Thompson.

An open house celebration of Gayla’s life will be held on November 23, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, located at 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, Utah.
