Gary, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 77 on July 14, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness.
Known for his unwavering generosity, Gary loved to help others, always willing to help no matter the situation. His compassion extended to animals, who found comfort in his gentle presence. Gary adored children and was adored in return for his playful spirit and warm demeanor. He spent many happy hours with his little angels, Gabby and Cesca. Nothing brought him more joy than making them smile. They were the joy of his life. He cherished moments in his garden and used his camping toys not just for relaxation but also to plow side streets in the neighborhood after snowstorms. He loved Western movies, old country western music, and the great outdoors, enjoying hobbies like riding ATVs, camping, and fishing.
Growing up on a farm in southern Utah, he was the youngest of 15 children. After high school he moved to Leadville, Colorado where he met his beloved wife, Jo-Ellen. That was the beginning of 58 years of a loving marriage.
Survived by his wife, Jo-Ellen; daughter, Chandra; son-in-law, Tom; and cherished grandchildren, Gabby and Cesca. Gary will be remembered as a hard-working and caring individual.
Gary's presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of compassion and love for family will forever be cherished.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held in his honor on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road.
