Gary James Frantz

November 9, 1937 — June 30, 2021

Gary James Frantz, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Herriman, Utah, on June 30, 2021.
The only boy in a household with 7 sisters, Gary was born to Ruth and Albert Frantz of Park City, Utah, on November 9, 1937. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gary graduated from Park City High School in the spring of 1956. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he served with honor and retained a patriotic streak that he carried with him through the rest of his life. On August 2, 1958, Gary married the love of his life, Charlotte Ann Wheelwright. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 2, 1967. A “fixture” of the plumbing community, Gary worked for Plumbers Supply for more than 40 years, while also serving as a volunteer fireman in Park City for over a decade. Gary loved coaching his two sons’ little league football teams, playing a round of golf, and fishing with his family and friends. Always willing to help and lend a hand when needed, Gary was the constant go-to phone call for nearly everyone in his life. Later in life Gary became–in addition to remaining a devoted husband and father–a constant and loving force in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always willing to sing, dance, and chase kids around his house until the very end.
Gary is survived by his wife of 62 years Charlotte Ann Wheelwright Frantz; children Gary Don (Brooke) Frantz and Jamie Ann Sundquist; sisters Dorothy Murnin, Thelma Lindsay, and Donna Reimer; 8 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Albert Frantz, son Bradlee Dean Frantz, and sisters Colleen Frantz, Louise Burgener, RaNae Martinez, and Karren Woolstenhulme.
