Gail Marie Johnson Lundskog

October 31, 1938 — August 1, 2024

Draper

Our sweet mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and wife, passed away peacefully August 1st, 2024 in her home in Draper, Utah.

Gail was born on October 31st, 1938 in Murray, Utah to Eva and Harold Johnson. During her early years, she enjoyed exploring nature, loving her pets, getting ice creams, and walking down to her beloved Grandma Etelka’s home. Together they would visit, laugh and connect with hours of storytelling.

She began a new chapter in her life with the man who captured her heart, Parley Jay Lundskog on November 1st, 1947. Gail and Parley became the devoted parents of seven children- Scott, Robert, David, Brad, Shellie, Karen and Lori. They absolutely adore each one of their 26 grandchildren- 34 darling great grandchildren…..and still counting!

Our mother’s life has been like an amazing bouquet of flowers. She’s learned to navigate the dry soil ground along with the weeds, and has blossomed beautifully in the process. She is a powerful example of pure charity, service and unconditional love. Her ability to build up others and see the good in humanity will stay with us forever. Gail’s years of caring for Eva, Lillie, Etelka and Parley in her home are powerful examples of Christ-like love that are imprinted in our minds and hearts.

After several years of living in Murray, they moved to Sandy and began adapting to country life. Bringing more children into their home, as well as adding gardens, chickens, horses, cows and acres of apple trees. Gail developed her talents and became the most wonderful cook, and generously shared her bounties with all who crossed her path. Along with working hard, she also had hobbies and passions that contributed to her goodness. Among those, only to name a few, include horseback riding, sewing, reading, appreciation for the arts and theater, travel, and her greatest gift of loving everyone deeply. Mom enjoyed building and decorating their dream home on Highland Drive with a spectacular view of the Wasatch mountains.

The last chapters of her life were spent in Draper enjoying time together with Parley and their growing posterity. Mom has spent almost 21 years without dad, and the final few were in the care of the most loving friends and staff at Beacon Crest Assisted Living in Draper. As her ability to speak began to fade she communicated her love for others with hugs and hand blown kisses.

Thank you, Mom for everything. We love and treasure you more than you will ever know! Lots of hugs and kisses forever.
