Freshteh Bassir

Freshteh Bassir returned to Heaven on September 11, 2019 at the age of seventy-seven. She passed away at her brother’s home in Saratoga Springs, Utah with family members by her side.
Freshteh was born on July 23, 1942 in Khorramshahr, Iran to Hamid and Fatmeh Bassir.
Freshteh graduated from BYU with a bachelors degree, in Psychology and Child Development. Freshteh worked as an elementary teacher prior to coming to the US, and after she was graduated from BYU, she worked for the Provo School District for 25 years teaching Special need children until she retired. Freshteh’s greatest treasures in life were her family; Freshteh loved spending time with family never forgetting a holiday or special occasion. To her many nieces and nephews there was no one greater than Aunt Freshteh.
Freshteh married Jerri Matlock on July 1, 2000, they spent many wonderful years together traveling, spending time at the local Senior Citizen Center, and she loved to play Bingo and the penny slot machine. She loved to go for a walk outdoors, she was a wonderful cook, she was always cooking and bringing her cooking and baking’s to family gatherings, she was the life of party and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father Hamid and mother Fatmeh Bassir. She is survived by her husband Jerri Matlock, 6 brothers, Don, Iraj, Shawn, Shahdad, Shahpar and Shahrom, her cousin Ramineh and many Nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday Sept., 16 2019 at 2.00 pm at the Memorial Mountain View Mortuary at 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights UT.
Interment will follow the services at same location.Service Information
