After a hard day’s work at the cabin our wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away unexpectedly as a result of a heart attack.
Fred was born November 30, 1930 to Elmer and Grace Elnora Moosman in Midvale, Utah; he was the older of two sons. Fred was a proud graduate of Jordan High School where he met and later married his eternal companion Vauna Loree Fairbourn on November 21, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple. Fred was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served faithfully in many positions, including Bishop, a calling he truly loved. He cherished his family, was a wonderful example of service in the Priesthood, and truly led a Christ-like life. He honorably filled a full time mission in the Central States Mission, and later served with his beloved companion in the New Jersey, Morristown Mission. He was serving currently as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Temple and a service missionary in the Centerville Dry-Pack Cannery. He provided well for his family, as the successful business owner of Layton Roofing Company, as well as other business ventures, until his retirement in 1996. He was proud to have served his country in the Korean War. He served the community in many ways, including as a North Salt Lake City Councilman. Some of his greatest joys were being with his family, hard work, being a pilot, and enjoying the beauty of his mountain cabin.
Survived by his son Steven (Wendy), daughters Marcia (Richard), Kathy (Barry), Karen (Jason), 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and brother Glen (Betty).
He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, and his parents.
