Frankie Larue Burtenshaw Swonson

Frankie (86) passed away of natural causes on May 27, 2022 in Bountiful, UT. She was born in Blanding UT, the daughter of Erastus and Bernice Burtenshaw on January 7, 1936. She was raised in Blanding and graduated from San Juan High School in 1954. She moved to Salt Lake City in 1956 to go to Beauty College where she met the love of her life, Richard C. Swonson. They were married July 3,1956. Though they never had kids of their own, they loved and cared for their dogs like they were their children. They enjoyed many fishing trips to Strawberry Reservoir and hunting trips to the Sagebrush Duck Club with Jack and Dot. Frankie and Richard were the world’s best example of how a couple should love each other. Frankie made friends wherever she went and knew her regular waitresses and cashiers by name. Frankie worked at Valley Bank for 18 years and also at Granger Medical Center for 14 years. After working for Granite School District for 11 years she retired at age 69. Frankie and Richard spent their retirement together working in their yard and watching the birds from the sunroom of their home. In the last years and months of her life, she was cared for by her nephew Russell G. Swonson (Deb) and her niece Stacey J. Steckler (Marty). She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings Zona, Veva, Vera, Afton, Farron, Jescile, Devon and Dorothy. She is survived by her sisters Delna and Nina as well as many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Sunday, June 5th at Memorial Holladay – Cottonwood Mortuary located at 4670 S. Highland Drive.
