Frankie Gealine Mcinelly Carlisle Crawford

October 28, 1937 — May 13, 2019

Our loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, Frankie, passed away on May 13, 2019.  She was born in Escalante, Utah on October 28, 1937. She was 81.
Frankie graduated from Granite High in 1955.  She married Norman Carlisle in 1956, and they welcomed Jeffery Paul and Gealine to their family over the next two years. Moving from Sugarhouse in 1965, they bought their first (and mom’s last) home in Cottonwood Heights. She loved her red brick home with white pillars and swing on the porch. Mom and Dad divorced in 1979.
Frankie met Edward Crawford, who was an artist for Keith O’Briens Department store, in Sugar House.  They married after twelve years of being together and were companions for over 30 years.  They spent many hours in their three different motor homes, traveling mostly to the Oregon Coast.  They enjoyed traveling to Australia, Fiji, and many other locations.  Mom and Edward had a long line of puppy kids, including four Yorkies and two Maltese. Their greatest love was their Shih Tzu, Watson.
Frankie worked for Keith O’Briens as a window display designer and in their advertising department, and later, as a production manager for Alan Frank and Associates in Sugarhouse. She oversaw numerous accounts including Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporation and Lehi Roller Mills.  Frankie retired from Alan Frank after 21 years of service.
Frankie was a beautiful designer, yet had no formal training.  From window displays to ad layouts, costumes to wedding dresses, as well as barbie clothes to Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren, she had a magic touch and ability.  Frankie crocheted many quilts, lace pieces, and beautiful scarfs.  She loved to paint and bead. Her nutcracker designs and creations are legendary. Her talents were diverse, as she was an accomplished pianist, as well.
She is survived by her husband Edward Crawford, daughter Gealine (Jerry) Mangelson, grandchildren Keaton, Cade (Taelor), Cloee Mangelson, Brittany Carlisle, Jesse (Jamie) Dean, Amy (Brandon) Bouck and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Jeffery, sister Beverly Despain, brother Steven McInelly, and parents Frank and Mearl Roderick McInelly.
Many thanks to her dear friends and her art family. We will miss her, but her memory will stay with us through her beautiful creations.  We love you!
Funeral Services for Frankie will be held on Saturday, May 18, at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East 7800 South, in Cottonwood Heights. Viewing will begin at 10:00 am and funeral will follow at 11:00 am.
