Frank Harlan Laver

December 31, 1928 — December 30, 2016

Our most beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on December 30, 2016 in Gilbert, AZ. He was 87. He left this world one day before his 88th birthday. Frank was born New Year’s Eve 1928 in Brigham City, Utah to Elzada Mary Petersen Laver and Charles Archie Laver. He grew up on Mantua, Utah, and graduated from Box Elder High School. Frank served in the Korean War and received his parachute badge. On returning from service he continued his education at the University of Utah and graduated in business and accounting. He first worked for the Kennecott Copper Co., and then he went on to finish his career at Hercules. Co.
Frank was very proud of his pioneer heritage and his devotion to his LDS faith. He served in many capacities including ward teacher supervisor, ward clerk, and in the elder’s quorum presidency. From Nov. 1996 to May 1998 Frank and his wife Ann, served a Family History Mission.
He was a hard worker, often working two jobs at a time to provide his wife and children with the best. Frank’s favorite pastimes were gardening and hunting.
On Sept. 22, 1950 Frank married Ann Lyday. They were perfect soulmates. They shared a very loving, respectful and kind marriage for 63 years. Ann passed away May 2, 2013. Frank was also preceded in death by his parents and all eight of his siblings: His brothers Lavard, Clyde, Boyd, Charles, Clinton and sisters Nola Larsen, Kathryn Green, and Jeanne Nichols. Frank is survived by his son Frank T. Laver (Sabrina) and his daughter LeeAnn Gilman (Sean). Frank also has twelve grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. We will all miss him greatly.
