Francois Albert Rook

Francois Albert Rook, 72, of Sandy Utah passed away peacefully on December 7th at his home with his family by his side. He fought a long hard battle of PTSD, Leukemia and Pneumonia in the end.
Francois also known as Frans was born in Rotterdam Holland to Angelina Barton Rook and Albertus Rook on October 21, 1948. His family immigrated to the United States when he was 2 years old. He graduated from East High School in 1967. In 1969 he enlisted into the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War.
Frans married his eternal companion Nancy K Jacoby on January 22, 1982 and they later solemnized their marriage for Time and All Eternity in the St. George temple on March 3, 1983.
Frans is preceded in death by his parents Angelina and Albertus Rook, his many furry companions SB, Misti, Kodiak, Rascal, Hanna, and Nelly.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Rook, 3 daughters Rachelle (Wade) Argyle, Emelie (KC) Rook and Melanie (Ken) Scott. 10 grandchildren Stetson (Nicolla) Larson, Chase (Sidney) Larson, Baylie Larson, Demetri, JaVontae, Daesha Donald, Daniel (Brandy) Brown, Kylie (Jack) Steele, Rueben and Ben Brown and Faithful furry friend Nikki. Sisters Angelina Olsen, Sylvia (Roger) Maw, Ruby Thomas, Dorothy (Klaas) Wykstra, Lucille (Kent) Evans, Sherie (Marv) Heflin, and many nieces and nephews that loved and adored him.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many doctors and nurses at the VA who took such good care and love of him over the many years he was a patient. Silverado Comfort Care for helping us get him settled in at home for the short time that he was back home, and to amazing ward family members and friends that were always there to love, help and support him.
There will be a private viewing for family on Monday before the services at the Alta View Stake Center at 1850 E. 8600 S. in Sandy, Utah. He will then be laid to rest at the Veteran’s Cemetery at Camp Williams on a later date with military honors.
