Francis Jesus Ramos

March 16, 1944 — September 5, 2019

Francis Jesus Ramos, age 75, died on September 5, 2019, in IMC Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 16, 1944 in Pueblo, Colorado. His mother was Helen Ramos and his father was John R. Ramos. He was previously married to JoAnn Ramos from 1981 to 1995. Although they divorced, they remained close friends.
Dad accomplished many things. He joined the Air force from 1963 to 1967, played football, went to college and earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Utah. He was a devout Catholic and attended Mass at the Cathedral of the Madeleine on Saturday nights religiously. Dad was also very devoted to his family. He worked for and retired from the Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City.
Dad loved spending time with his family, going to dinner, just talking, going camping, riding horses and playing games. He was the most kind, loving and giving man you would ever meet.
His grandson was everything to him. He would keep every note and picture that Colby gave to him on the fridge and his wallet was filled with nothing but pictures of his grandson. He would always ask me where his “Colber” was if I came around without him. Colby always brightened my dad’s day and made him smile and happy. He would always put a smile on my dad’s face from ear to ear whenever his Colber was around. There were times when Colby was a baby, my dad would repeatedly tell the story to people that we would go to the restaurant and when Colby was done eating, he’s wouldn’t touch or throw his food all over the floor, that never bothered my dad. My dad loves his Colber and Colby loves him just as much. They were BEST BUDS!
He is survived by his brother, Lawrence Ramos, and his wife, Lorana Ramos, his sister, Maria Ramos-Cordova and family, his daughters, Tandra Coomans, Taucia Jensen, and her husband, Steve Jensen, his grandson, Colby James Kisner, and his fiancé, Loren Litton, great-grandson, Dean Matthew Kisner, and his ex-wife and friend, JoAnn Ramos, along with Ben, Charlie, Martha, Debra and so many more nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, John R. Ramos, his mother, Helen Ramos, and his brothers, Richard Ramos, John Ramos Jr. and Fred Ramos.
Special thanks to all the friends and neighbors that checked on him and let me know when he was hurt so I could get to him as fast as possible. My dad was a loved man and was cared about by all who knew him. All his neighbors loved him. Thank you. That meant the world to me and I know it did to him, too.
I also want to say how much it meant to my dad that he got to see his family from Colorado and Florida just before he passed. Thank you. He loved you all, oh, so very much and he always shared stories about all of you, especially more towards the end. I was so very happy that you all came down to be with him. It meant the world to me and my dad. He was the most amazing, kind-hearted, most loving, giving man. He was always there for me. I was very blessed. I will miss you, Dad. You will be in my heart always. All our love, your loving daughter, Tan and family.
