Frances Rose Child Vogt
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away at IMC Hospital on October 12, 2016, with her family by her side. “Fran” as she liked to be called was born to Alpine Castle Child and Rose May Capel Child on June 17, 1937. She went to Murray High and graduated from South High. Mom married our dad Ormond Vogt on December 1, 1956. Fran worked in accounts payable at IML Freight for 17 years, and then at Group Benefit Administrators for 12 years, retiring in 2000. Mom loved her Wendover trips, her monthly pedicures, playing Bonco, and her standing dinner dates with her son Steve on Friday nights. She enjoyed shopping, going to lunch, and being with her daughter Karen and granddaughters, Nikkee, Natalie, and Hayley. When mom was with her family, she was happiest. Fran loved to bowl and played on two leagues each week for many years. She was so proud of the 181 she bowled just last week! Fran was a volunteer at IMC Hospital for the last 12 years and loved being of service to others. She loved the ladies she volunteered with and talked of them often. We are all beyond heartbroken at the loss of this beautiful woman. Our mom was one of the kindest, sweetest, and caring women we knew. Love you mom, grandma, and great grandma forever and always. We will be looking out for the dimes! Fran is survived by her son Steve, daughter Karen (Mike) Mayfield, granddaughters Nikkee (Jeff) Vincent, Natalie (TA) Barker, and Hayley Shaffer (Jeff Betton), great grandchildren Zack and Dylan Bleggi, Cali and Capri Vincent, Peyton, Boston, and Greyson Barker, brother Cass Child, and sister Molly Carsey. Preceded in death by her husband Ormond Vogt, brother Bob Child, and sister Jessie Edgar. A viewing will be held Friday, October 14, 2016, from 6-8pm at Redwood Memorial Estates 6500 S. Redwood Rd. Graveside services will be held Saturday October 15 at 11:30am with a viewing from 10-11am at Redwood Memorial Estates.Service Information
