Frances Kathryn Naylor Kempton
Was born in 1939 to Joseph and Christella Naylor. She was the second of 5 children. She passed away on August 13, 2015 surrounded by many of her children and grandchildren.
Her deep testimony of Our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ never wavered. Her love of His gospel, joy in her family, and ancestry, has always been among her most cherished thoughts. Her unwavering faith, pioneer determination, and endurance, have blessed her throughout her life. While she never had much in the way of temporal things, she was the richest person in faith and hope. Frances was a strong woman with a strong testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was unapologetically true to herself. She raised seven children on her own, all of whom survived and have strong independent natures just like she wanted.
She loved music, especially the hymns, and spent her whole life as a member of her ward choir. She often filled her home with the sound of her beautiful voice and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. To live with Frances was to live with music.
Most of her life was spent fighting one illness or another. She had her first back surgery at the age of 13, spending that summer in a body cast. In the mid 80’s she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis fighting that to the end of her life. Along the way she fought many illnesses including Breast cancer, asthma, diabetes, scoliosis, a heart condition and several more. Each time she rose to the challenge, not letting anything defeat her.
