Frances C. Allen

December 26, 1918 — April 27, 2021

Francis C. Allen, age 102 years, passed away on April 27, 2021 in West Jordan, Utah. She was born on December 26, 1918 in Shawnee, Kansas to Harry James Colley & Frances Daisy Crowe. She married the late Bruce W. Allen, Veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Frances was a mother of three children, whom she raised single-handedly, while also working full-time. She was a gourmet chef and baker and loved adorning her family and friends with her homemade breads, jams and jellies. She loved to sew, knit, crochet and cross-stitch. But most of all, she loved being around her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who all own several knitted sweaters, blankets and afghans in their favorite colors.
She is survived by her son, Jeff, daughter, Jo (Bob Lavin) and son, Jim and his wife, Lesa, and one sister, Nean Dorris. She also had 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husbands, Bruce Allen and Newell Call, four sisters, one brother, her parents and three granddaughters.
Whenever she was asked about her secret to a long life, she would say, “I choose to be happy.” It was her creed for life.
