Foa’I Masuisui

April 10, 1946 — May 4, 2020

Foa’i Masuisui, age 74, passed away on May 4, 2020 in Murray, Utah with his wife by his side. He was born on April 10, 1946 in Western Samoa to Tuitea Tanielu Masuisui and Taupule Ah Hing. He married Eseta Seutafili on December 30, 1995 in Palo Alto, California.
Foa’i and Eseta resided in California until 2001 when they decided to move to Utah. Foa’i loved Eseta and enjoyed spending time with her. They would often go on drives and read the scriptures together.
He was a very social person. Foa’i loved talking with his friends and family and was remembered as being very friendly and a giving person. He also had a great sense of humor, always joking around with everyone.
Foa’i was always in his yard. He wasn’t too big into gardening but loved yardwork. He was also a great cook; He loved to cook cabbage rolls, shrimp, and his favorite – orange chicken and fried rice – for his family. Foa’i liked to travel in his younger years but grew to be a homebody.
He was a family man; he especially loved his children and grandchildren. Foa’i’s 7 children from his first marriage have memories of their dad being a hardworker, always working to support them. He did anything to help his family.
He worked on Canton Island doing construction, worked with NASA doing maintenance work for 15 years, and lastly Macey’s where he then retired after 3 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his late wife Melesa, son Ioane Masuisui, sister Limala’u Tevaseu, and brother Osotonu Tanielu.
Surviving him is his wife Eseta, children Kirisimasi (Lealofi) Masuisui, Ario (Paul) Morrissette, Pearl (Kara) Masuisui, Maryann (Vainiu) Masuisui, Brian (Shana) Masuisui, and Mane Masuisui; 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 28 grandkids, nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.
