Sandy, UT –Floris Duncan Haile passed away peacefully on November 29, 2019 in Sandy, Utah. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Floyd E. Duncan and Edna Bennett Duncan.
Floris was the oldest of four children her sisters are Dayle Duncan White (Clyde), Anna Jo Wayne (John), Edna Ruth Hilton (Keith). Floris is survived by her 2 daughters Lia Haile (son: Anthony Haile) and Elizabeth Haile (children: Maylene Edna Martinez, Porfie Floyd Martinez, and Esperanza Diane Martinez), and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Alton Bertine Haile, father Floyd E. Duncan and mother Edna Bennett Duncan. Floris attended Hawthorne Elementary, Bryant Junior High and East High school. After graduating from nursing school with a CNA, she worked in a care center helping residents. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a missionary in the Great Lakes Mission. After she returned from her mission she met her husband Alton and they were married for almost 40 years. Before he passed away they were sealed in the Jordan River Temple. She remained active until she passed away having a strong testimony and faith in her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved religious hymns and would sing them in her mind as well as repeat her favorite scriptures. Floris was a very kind person to all, and very forgiving. She was truly thankful to anyone that helped her in anyway. She made friends easily with those that she met and was always cheerful even though she had many struggles in life. Her Branch President said that she would be truly missed in the Sandy Regional Care Center. The family would like to thank all those that served her in the care center for the past three years. She found it enjoyable to be there and had friends and caregivers to associate with.
Funeral services will be held December 4, 2019 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Mortuary and Cemeteries, 3115 E Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT. A viewing will be held 30 minutes prior to the services, interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.Service Information
