Floris Copier peacefully left this life two days after his 90th birthday on Saturday October 8, 2016. The last survivor of ten siblings. He was born October 6, 1926 in Breukelen, The Netherlands to Jan Copier and Jannigje DeWith. He immigrated to the United States in 1947. He was married to his sweetheart Eva for 68 years. He often said he chased her all the way across the ocean. Floris will be remembered as a happy, friendly man who loved people and drew them to him with his magnetic personality. He lived a life of service to others. He worked for many years as a general and electrical contractor specializing in the building of LDS chapels. He loved working in the Jordan River Temple where he served for many years. He also had a passion for family history. He is survived by his wife Eva, six sons: Floris (JoAnn), Randall (Kaye), Michael, Eldon (Debbie), Ken (Char), Dale (LaDean). Three daughters: Marian (Mike) Mallory, Linda (Lee) Llewellyn, Sharon (Cameron) Clukey, daughter-in-law Sheri, 32 grandchildren and 80+ great grand children and many extended family members. Preceded in death by his son John, daughter-in-law Muriel, 3 infant grandsons and 2 infant great grandsons, his parents, and his siblings.
Funeral services will be held Thursday October 13, 2016 at 11:00 am at the LDS chapel at 4845 South Woodhaven Drive Taylorsville, Utah. A viewing will be Wednesday evening October 12, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Redwood Memorial Estates and Thursday morning at the church one hour prior to the services.
