Florence Louise Johnston Holder Woolsey

June 12, 1926 — June 8, 2019

Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Florence Louise Johnston Holder Woolsey quietly left this earth life June 8, 2019 just days before her 93rd birthday. Born June 12, 1926 to Joseph R. and Rosella F. Jensen Johnston in Salt Lake City Utah.
After her parents divorced, Florence and her family moved to Idaho. There she made several lifelong friends, who referred to her as “Johnny,” while she attended and graduated from Teton High School. Florence married William (Bill) Henry Holder on January 10, 1944 and together they raised a son, Daniel, and a daughter, Joy. During these years she often went by the nickname “Flossy.” After Bill’s passing in 1988, Florence married Donald J. Woolsey on July 10, 2001 and they shared 11 years together.
Florence was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. For years she enjoyed compiling the monthly ward newsletter and also like serving as the ward librarian. She served an honorable mission to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City. Florence love the outdoors and spent time doing yard work, gardening, and camping. She was a member and served in leadership positions of two Good Sam Clubs.
Florence is survived by her daughter Joy Holder Abegg, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, her son Daniel Holder (who recently passed in February), granddaughter ShanaLee Holder. her son-in-law Sherman Terry Abegg, both her parents, brother Joseph R. Johnston, and sister Melba Boweter.
Graveside services will be held June 27, 2019 at 1 PM at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be held June 26th from 6 PM to 8 PM and on the 27th prior to the graveside service from 11 AM to 12:30 PM.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Bountiful and to Bristol Hospice for their years of care and compassion.
