On the early morning of January 8th, the angels came and took our precious Mom away. They knew her small and fragile body was so very tired. Flora Valdez was born March 19, 1924 in Del Norte, Colorado, to Julianita Medina and Jose Valdez.
On October 2, 1947, Flora married Arthur Arellano in Montrose, Colorado. It was a marriage with love and respect for one another. Flora was the traditional homemaker of the 50’s and 60’s. She was the perfect wife to dad and wonderful to us kids. We always had our homemade meals. Mom always made sure we looked our best and had the best. We always thought she loved us kids with all her heart but the grandkids and great grandkids came along so I’m not sure where Jim, Connie, Chris or myself landed. Mom’s final years were a slow decline in health. Her memory was failing but somehow she kept the twinkle in her eyes for family and friends. Her love never stopped. The family sincerely wants to thank the Valeo Staff who helped mom in her final life journey. Mom left with dignity and grace. Thank you, Hanna, P.J., Deb and everyone else at Valeo.
Flora is survived by her children James Arellano, Connie Casias (Danny), Frances Green (Lynn), Chris Arellano (Theresa); sister Betty Harris; 9 grandkids and 18 great grandkids.
