Ferril “Colleen” Paxman

July 5, 1929 — May 3, 2022

1929 – 2022
Died on May 3, 2022, in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born on July 5, 1929, in Spring City, Utah to George Thomas Crisp and Ferril Margaret Christensen. She married Claude William Paxman on January 20, 1950 in the Manti Temple.
Colleen was one of eleven children. She was raised on a farm in Spring City, Utah, and learned very early to work hard. Colleen worked for years in the health care industry; at that time, she was the do-everything doctor’s office girl. She was an X-ray technician, office nurse, and phlebotomist and ran the lab. Colleen retired from the University of Utah School of Medicine. She liked her work and was proud of her accomplishments. She loved to read, sew, and knit. She looked forward to planting her flowers every spring. It was the little things that brought her joy. She was honored to be a recipient of the Pay it Forward program. Our family loved her homemade raspberry jam, rolls, spaghetti sauce, and Thanksgiving pies. Colleen gave many volunteer hours with Temple service and elementary school. Colleen loved family. She was selfless and loved to serve.
Special thanks to Dr. Sanyer and the team at the University of Utah for their loving care of Colleen for over 40 years.
She is survived by children Duane Paxman, Elaine (Steve) Nuessle and Rhonda Paxman; siblings Marian Lorensen, Marlene Crisp, LaRae Crisp, Jean Crisp, Ted (Marilyn) Crisp, and Thomas (Norma) Crisp, and many nieces and nephews. She loved her role as “Aunt Colleen.”
Colleen was blessed with five grandchildren Kevin (Heather) Paxman, Kelly (Zach) Meyer, Seth (Lacey) Paxman, William Nuessle, Julia (Connor) Schoonover. Seven great-grandchildren Allie (Justin) Ritchie, Hadlee Paxman, Noah Paxman, Lucy Paxman, Colton Meyer, Paisley Meyer, Kaladin Paxman.
She is preceded in death by her loving son Donald Lynn Paxman and daughter-in-law Cheryl Lynn Paxman; husband Claude Paxman; parents George and Ferril Crisp; brothers: Richard George Crisp, Jens (Lafae) Crisp, Morris Edwin Crisp, Glendel Lorensen and Donald Ray Crisp; sisters: Dorothy Jane Forbes, Phyllis Margaret Baumbach, and Rose (Vernon) Bosh. Sweet Gram is having a joyous reunion in heaven right now. We will love and miss her forever & always.
