Fernando Gomez, Jr.

Fernando Gomez Jr. was born on October 25, 1965 to Fernando Gomez and Esther Gomez in Chicago, Illinois. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on July 11, 2020.
Fernando graduated from West High School. He excelled in the art of making friends from all walks of life. He was exceptionally loyal, protective and a good listener. He often would call or send messages to his friends daily. His most cherished friend was Rich McKnight, their friendship spanned over 30 plus years.
Fernando had the love of Christ in his heart. And was an active member of the Calvary Chapel. He loved attending services, activities and serving his church. He loved all the members of the congregation.
Fernando is survived by his two sisters Nydia Darnell (Greg Spouse), Ellie Chavez and nieces Esther (Toni) Hansen (Bobby Spouse), Carmen Chavez and Beatrice Chavez, plus a great niece (Gracie) and great nephews. (Anthony, Nico, Felix)
Proceeded in death by his parents Fernando Gomez Sr., and Esther Gomez, Sister Carmen Quiles (Eddie Spouse), Little Eddie (Nephew), Nephew Steven Atwater, and Niece Heather Atwater.
Fernando will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends.
A viewing and a service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at The Calvary Chapel, 460 West Century Drive (4350 S) Salt Lake City, Utah 84123. The public viewing will be held at 1:00pm and the service will be held at 2:00pm.
For the safety of those attending the services. There will be temperature checks upon arrival of the chapel and we strongly encourage the use of face masks, but it will not be required to attend. Funeral services will be streamed via Zoom for those who wish to attend virtually. Please see instructions below.
