Fern Marie Moreland Lindley, age 87, died March 9, 2016 at home surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born September 4, 1928, and was the last surviving child of Franklin Harrison and Belle Zona Moreland. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Warren Lindley. They were married February 23, 1944, and raised three children together.
Marie was an accomplished pianist and vocalist in her youth, and maintained a lifelong passion for the performing arts. This was fortunate, as she was subjected to innumerable performances by her children and grandchildren. She truly thought all showed great genius! She was active and supportive in the lives of her loved ones, providing a welcoming home life. She enjoyed the company of a great many friends while bowling and playing bridge. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and children. She particularly enjoyed spoiling her grandsons at Christmas. She gave her time generously to St. Marks as a volunteer. She will be missed.
Her family extends their deep and enduring gratitude for the neighbors and caregivers who loved her, and kept her in her own home, safe, happy and laughing. She commented often that she was so lucky to have you in her life.
Marie is survived by her three children, Mike Lindley (Janice), Dan Lindley (Charlet), Teresa Draney (Shawn), five grandsons and one great grandson.
