Felila K. Lio

September 4, 1947 — February 27, 2019

Felila K Lio, 71, of Kearns, Utah passed away on the morning of February 27, 2019; the seventeenth anniversary of her mother’s passing. She was the wife of Senetenari P Lio. They shared 40 years of marriage together on earth, with an eternity of marriage ahead of them in the life to come.
Born in Mesepa, American Samoa on September 4, 1947, she was the daughter of Kanona and Iva Moea’i. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She worked as a seamstress for many years at Beehive Clothing and gave countless years of humble service, both through her own callings as well as those of her husband. Together, they touched the lives of innumerous individuals by their humility and faith.
She is survived by children Trottier Lio, Emily (Daniel) Tapusoa, and Leeann Lio; Grandchildren, Daniel Jr (Nancy) Tapusoa, Angelena Tapusoa; and siblings Tamate (Violet) Moea’i, Kanona (Sina) Moea’i Jr., Uafato (Fungalei) Lolohea, Seli (Martha) Moea’i, Ta’atua (Tunufai) Endemann, Robert (Momi) Moea’i, Tulao (Danette) Moea’i.
She was predeceased by husband, Senetenari Lio, parents Kanona and Iva Moea’i, brother Lisona Moea’i, and sister Paneta (Kuinise) Levao.
Felila will be remembered by her loved ones for her delicious food, decadent desserts, and astounding sewing ability. She enjoyed sharing her talents with those around her. Even in her later years, she spent hours with her granddaughter sewing dance costumes and sharing her knowledge. Felila has taught her family the importance of personal relationships, despite being of few words. Whether by phone calls, car rides, or visits, she never missed an opportunity to talk to those whom she loved and let them know how much she loved them. This meant that oftentimes, you could expect a daily phone call from Felila. Often being described as being “straightforward,” she could always be relied on to tell things the way that they are.
