Felicidad Floresca Flores “Fely”, age 94, passed away April 7, 2021. Fely was born March 27, 1927 to Monico and Dioniscia Floresca in MacArthur, Leyte, Philippines. She married Andy Abuan Flores on March 16, 1946 in Abuyog, Leyte, Philippines.
Fely met and married the love of her life, Andy Abuan Flores, during World War II when he was serving as a Sargent in the U.S. Army stationed in the Philippines. Together they raised four children. Fely’s priority was always her children. She worked hard at various jobs to help provide for her family, including obtaining a cosmetology license and working at the Kay and Grant Butters Salon in downtown Salt Lake City. She loved traveling, tending her flower gardens and visiting with the ladies in the neighborhood over a cup of coffee. She also greatly enjoyed hosting dinner parties for family and friends featuring her home-cooked Filipino dishes.
Fely is survived by her children: Andy (Lolita), Paul (Sharon), Michelle (Rick), Stephany (Wayne); grandchildren: Melissa (Daniel), Brandon (Laura), Britani (Coulter), Andrea, Monica, Alexandra; and great-grandchildren: Justice, Isabella, Kennedy, Evie. Preceded in death by her husband Andy and her grandson Cory. Graveside services for the family were held April 15, 2021. Interment at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, Taylorsville, Utah.
