Faye Lapreal Hubner Hughes

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Faye LaPreal Hughes passed away peacefully at her home in Riverton, Utah on December 5, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Faye was born on February 1, 1938 in Murray, Utah to Eric Ernest Hubner and Beth Enniss Hubner. She graduated from Granite High School in 1956. She married her sweetheart Kenith McCoy Hughes on August 24, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Faye was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She faithfully served in many callings in the following organizations: Young Women, Primary, Sports Director, Activity Day leader, Librarian and served as a Jordan River Temple worker. Faye’s faith was strong.
Faye loved to travel. She visited 48 states and 12 countries with her husband and after he passed, she had the opportunity to go to 5 additional countries. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and collecting elephants. She loved sports. She loved the Jazz but she was mainly a BYU sports fan and secondly anyone playing the U.
Faye loved her family! They were everything to her. She loved being with them and they loved being with her. Faye’s love extended beyond her own children. She helped foster children and if anyone needed a place to stay her door was always open.
Faye is survived by one son, Eric (Leslie) Hughes, and five daughters, Corrinne (Wayne) Ackerman, Rhonda (Layne) Sherman, Lynette (Gary) Carlston, Shelly (Gary) Saxton, and Andrea Jenkins. She has 22 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. She is survived by one brother, Bill Hubner.
Preceded in death by husband Kenith M. Hughes, father Eric E. Hubner, mother Beth E. Hubner, sister, Donna Bleazard, daughter Lisa Johnson Patterson and a granddaughter Larissa Jenkins
Funeral services will be held December 10, 2020 at 10:00 am with a viewing from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Pheasant Point Ward, 3113 West 13400 South, Riverton, Utah 84065
