Faye Johnson

Faye Lamb Johnson of Taylorsville passed away peacefully in the very early morning hours of October 14, 2016.  She was 83.
Faye was born to Eldon and Beth Lamb August 7, 1933, in Smithfield Utah where she enjoyed her childhood.  She married her best friend and husband of 53 years, Franklin R. Johnson, in the Logan Temple in 1952.  They moved to the Salt Lake Valley shortly after marrying to start, and raise their family.  After a few years living in the avenues, they eventually settled in Cottonwood Heights where they lived most of their lives together.
Faye was a lifelong member of The Church of Latter-day Saints.  She served faithfully for decades, bringing her gift of music to her Lord and her Church.  She happily provided piano accompaniment to choirs, Road Shows and other church programs.  Her greatest reward was playing the organ every Sunday for her church family.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Franklin, her eldest son, Scott Franklin Johnson and brother in law Dave Peterson.  She is survived by 3 siblings, John(Judy)Lamb – Arizona, Susan Peterson – Montana, and Lauralou Campbell – Smithfield,Utah.  By 2 sons, Craig(Becky)Johnson – Taylorsville, Rick(Julie)Johnson – Kearns, and her daughter Laurie Johnson – Logan.  She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren who will dearly miss their “Gram”.
Faye lived out the last of her life residing at the Legacy House of Taylorsville where she continued her musical calling and brightened spirits as the Birthday Ambassador. The family wishes to express deep gratitude for the Legacy staff and the tender care and concern they’ve shown our Mom over the years.  We’d also like to thank the staff from Inspiration Hospice whose compassion and guidance allowed Faye to leave us with dignity and peace.
Funeral services will be held Wed. Oct. 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South. Viewing held Tues, 6:00 to 8:00 pm and 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the service. To see full obituary, visit www.memorialutah.com.
