Fay Castleton Jager

May 24, 1927 — December 13, 2017

Mom passed away peacefully the morning of December 13, 2017 after 90 years on this earth. She was born May 24, 1927 in Salt Lake City to Leo Brown Castleton and Phoebe Taylor Castleton; she was the oldest of their three children. She grew up in Millcreek, graduated from Granite High School in 1945. She met our Dad, Edward Jager; they fell in love and married March 25, 1948 in Memory Grove. They were blessed with 5 children, Robin, Mary Ann, Michael Edward, Paul Castleton, and Albert Leo that they raised in Salt Lake City.
Mom was full of spunk and energy, always on the go. She was an accomplished knitter, porcelain doll maker (including making their clothes), seamstress, crazy swimmer, and family history keeper. Mom was very proud of being Foot Print Queen in May 1949 and loved being camp director for the Young Women. Mom & Dad loved boating at Lake Powell and Yellowstone Park. She and Dad liked to spend winters in St George, after buying a condo in 1993. They were square dancers and bridge players. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 23, 1962.
We have so much gratitude in our hearts for this amazing woman, for the things she taught and shared and who over the last few years has slowly lost her spunk from the effects of Alzheimer’s disease.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Bickmore (David), Michael (Carma), Paul, Albert (Wendi). Their children Jacob (Rachel) Bickmore, Megan (Lincoln) Wright, Phoebe Beacham, Mike (Courtney) Bickmore, Codie (Griff)) Miller, Lindsay Jager-Petrof, Amanda (Brady) Flamm, Cole Jager, Claire Jager, Lauren Jager, Rylie Jager, Whitney (AJ) Orchard, Carli Jager, Eli Jager and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ed, daughter Robin, daughter in law Marilyn Jager, grandson in law Burt Beacham, granddaughter, Amiee Jager, grandson Austin Jager, great granddaughter Amelia Flamm.
