F. Franklin Brown

July 11, 1935 — July 25, 2021

F. Franklin “Frank” Brown passed away on July 25th, 2021 in Sandy, Utah. He was born July 11th, 1935 to Lola May Wasden Brown and Fredrick F. Brown in Loa, Wayne County, Utah where he spent his childhood. He was proud of his hometown including being a Wayne High graduate. He married the love of his life, Anna Jean Hartvigsen on November 13th, 1959 in the Logan LDS Temple. Frank worked as a brick mason, at Sweets Candy Company, and later in life was employed at Granite School District in the Printing Services with a brief period where he taught Graphic Arts at Kearns High School.
He grew up enjoying hunting with family and attended Utah State including being an avid follower of Aggie Athletics. As an adult Frank was an enthusiastic bowler with his wife, where they bowled together in many leagues. After Anna Jean’s passing, Frank continued league bowling where he developed many meaningful, long term friendships. He was a devoted basketball fan especially for the Boston Celtics and Larry Bird. Not a Christmas went by without his Larry Bird Christmas ornament on the tree. He loved listening to classic western music, brewing root beer for family reunions, and enjoyed golf (got a HOLE IN ONE at Nibley Golf Course).
Frank was a friend to all, was kind, giving, very easy going, and a big support to his family and will be missed by many.
Survived by his children Annette (Craig) Vielstich, James (Toni) Brown, and Eric (Heather) Brown, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren who affectionately called him Popples. Frank was preceded in death by his wife Anna Jean, their son Russell, his mother and father, a brother and two sisters, a grandson, and 2 great grandchildren.
